Ingredients
4 cups NaturGreen Soja Calcium
3 tbsp cane sugar
1 hand butterfly pea flower or 10pcs pandan leaf (depending if you would like green or blue colour)
Cooking oil (enough to oil the mould)
Directions
- Soak the rice overnight.
- Add 2 cups of Soja to rice and blend until smooth.
- Add flour and 1 cup of of Soja. Blend to mix together. The batter should be runny.
- Pour the batter into 2 separate bowls. In one of the bowls add 1 more cup of Soja, the other bowl add the natural plant colour.
- In a wok or steamer, bring water to boil. Oil a baking tin, add the batter in a thin layer then steam for 2-3 minutes until harden.
- After the first layer has harden, add the second mixture into the mould, as much as the first layer. Steam again for another 2-3 minutes.
- Repeat the steps alternatively.
- Until you have finished all your batter, wait till it completely cools then cut. Voila!
Notes
- To test the texture of the kuih, try steaming a thin layer of each colour in 2 small bowls. Let it cool down before tasting. Adjust the texture and sweetness based on the taste and mouthfeel.
If its too hard, add more soja.
If its too soft, add more flour.
