The Chinese call it ‘Jiao zi’, the Japanese call it ‘Gyoza’ and the Tibetan, Nepalese and Himalayan call it ‘momo’. They come in different shapes and sizes, wrapped using thin pastry and filled with different surprises. You know what it is! That’s right, dumplings are widely known by many from all over the world, especially in Asia.

In this Momo making workshop, Kathryn will be teaching us how to make the Tibetan version of vegan friendly dumplings (momo) as well as the sauce that is handmade from scratch. There will also be a raw vegan momo demonstration. We will be making four colour momo using organic plant based ingredients- orange, purple, green and red.


Kathryn Sunantha, a vegetarian for almost 20 years and a raw vegan for 5 years. It was in 2011 when she decided to quit her teaching job, moved to Nepal and founded BLISS PURE FOODS in the tourist site of Kathmandu in 2015. Kathryn is an author of two books and is currently in the process of crafting her third book “Bliss Pure Foods: Living in Full Colors”, a vegetarian, raw and vegan recipes cookbook. Nowadays, Kathryn travels frequently for teachings as well as arranging Shojin Ryori (vegetarian temple foods) events with famous Chefs from Japan. She enjoys sharing happiness, beauty, health and creativity through food making workshops with participants.


Participants to bring:

Apron, one chopping board, a sharp knife, a rolling pin and a container to fill the handmade momo.
