Fried Tofu in Lengkuas

Ingredients
2 blocks of firm tofu, about 500 gram
2 teaspoon Sunria Organic Arenga Sugar
2 teaspoon Sunria Bamboo Roasted Seasoning
500 ml water
Emile Noel Cooking & Frying Oil for frying
- Grind the following into spice paste
8 shallots
5 cloves garlic
5 Sunria Cashew, soaked
2 lemongrass (only the white part)
3 teaspoon Wonder Wilderfarm Lengkuas Powder
1 teaspoon Sonnentor Turmeric Powder
1½ teaspoon Sonnentor Coriander Whole
Directions
- Heat oil and sauté spice paste until fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add water, sugar, salt and tofu. Bring to a boil. Cook uncovered until all liquid has been absorbed by the tofu. Turn off heat and set aside.
- Heat enough oil in a pot for deep frying. Fry the tofu until crispy and golden brown. Serve immediately.
Notes
- This recipe can be turned into soup for noodle by adding more water and boil till aromatic.
